About Me

Thanks for visiting. My name is Michael Kennedy. You can call me Mike, or MK, but I try to avoid putting two hard K's together, so I prefer Michael if you're also using my last name.

I'm a Collaborative Designer who has been moonlighting as a Researcher and eventually Senior Researcher for 5 years or so. Currently I'm in a hybrid role as UX Designer/Researcher within IBM Security.

In my last role at Endurance International I led a field research initiative and journey mapping effort to unite a suite of digital products and worked across those products globally to perform usability testing and user research.

At Constant Contact I conducted nation-wide field research to inform Personas, participated in design sprints and innovation jams, and moderated research sessions with hundreds of users.

I studied Human Factors in Information Design at Bentley University, earning a Masters degree after studying visual and media arts at Emerson College. I worked for a few years in television and film as a production and locations assistant.

Beyond that I have creative pursuits and hobbies that I love and which I may showcase here as my personal interests and professional path continue to align. I've always managed to surprise my friends and family with my strange new ambitions and seasons of obsessions.

I'm happily married and have a super cute rescue dog named William who has his own instagram. I live in a cute yellow house and am getting closer and closer to becoming Curious George's man-in-the-yellow-hat every day.
